The AHA is looking for a Records Management Technician for a project processing records of the Association.

Integral part of local and regional history, the Association has been working since 1975 to promote, preserve, and protect the heritage built, as well as the natural and the immaterial heritage of Aylmer. The processing of the APA archives will make available to the public and researchers the history of the Association, its evolution and its activities.

Role summary: The project consists on processing the Aylmer Heritage Association’s records from the year 1975 to 2010.

Duties :

  • Organize the documents with a Classification Plan following the description set in the AADR
  • Sort the documents by series
  • Describe the documents up to the file level (series, subseries and files) following the standards of AADR
  • Do the material preparation with archival equipment following the norms established for record storage
  • Entry the Fund to the Quebec Archives Dissemination Network (RDAQ)
  • Update the catalog for easy retrieval of the documents

Minimum qualification required : DEC in Information and Library Technology or a Graduate Diploma in Information Management with a certificate in Archive Domain

  • The candidate must possess excellent organizational and filing skills,
  • Must master the principles and challenges of organizing, archiving, and providing access to the records of an organization,
  • Must be diligent, dynamic and able to work independently
  • Must have some French and English at some advanced level.

Type of hiring : 6 months contract

Date dof employment : beginning of June 2018

Salary: 20$ / hour
